What kind of pan should I use to sear steak?

I use a cast iron!

I do too! Sometimes, I just sear the steak real fast for the crust on the outside, and then I put the whole cast iron in the oven to cook the steak.

Remember to never wash the cast iron! I had no idea and it really ruined my pan!

I use some kind of heavy frying pan.

Yeah, I don't really have a specific one. I'm still learning with cooking steak.
